Another day in a long string of days.
First proper meal I've had since Thursday, dinner today. Being able to ignore a growling, grumbling stomach is a practical skill in the short-term, and slightly detrimental in the long-term. But I'm not usually so lax on nutrition; it's been a fever-ridden week.
Went for a meeting organised for fanfiction writers in the area. Only one other person showed up, and I was very surprised to see that it was a boy. It was completely unexpected, because statistics would say that he'd be a she. Never mind though, he was pretty nice, and we had a pleasant chat.
(During which I was mildly chided for living an unadventurous and anti-social life, ahahahaha.)
(Oh, the nervous laughter. I think I spent an equal amount of time speaking and nervously laughing. I cannot stop it, not with will alone).
Walked back from the city center; it's about 40 minutes worth of brisk walking, and taking in some fresh air has been awesome. Except for the slight case of sniffles it has saddled me with. But that's hardly a life or death situation, so I'm just sitting with a roll of tissues next to me.
Bought Milo and rice and grapes. The grapes, because mum said I look a bit peaky and off-colour and my skin looked distinctly unhealthy, and fruits should make their way into my diet post-haste. I like grapes and melons and peaches. Soft things, mostly, and loathe apples and bananas. So, grapes, yum. Was supposed to by vitamins because mum is also convinced (probably rightly) that I'm malnourished.
To those who know how much such things cost, in a Chinese grocery store, a durian cut into quarters was sold at about £10 per quarter. PER QUARTER. I nearly popped a blood vessel.
Currently? Listening to my iTunes as I try to psych myself up to get some homework done. Happily, I have the encouraging support of a custard tart I've been saving for such an occasion (^_-)-☆
Received a reply from Gentleman Head Gardener-san. Am planning an appointment to meet and discuss what my volunteering will entail at the botanical garden. A friend said he would lend me a spare bike he has, and if I can get it, I wouldn't need to take the bus to get there. Which would be bloody spectacular, because not only would I be saving teh monay, I get to ride a bicycle.
I love riding bicycles :D
And, A1: The Road Musical. Pfffffffffff.

Date: 2010-03-13 10:48 pm (UTC)Also, meeting for fanfiction writers?! Wish we had stuff like that around here.
Lastly, unnecessary fact about me #1: i can't ride a bycicle. No idea how. xDDDD
(no subject)
Date: 2010-03-14 12:17 am (UTC)It's pretty cool, I've been to a few. It's still new, though, so turn-out's not been so good~
In return, unnecessary fact about me nu. 1: Took me years to learn to ride a bike. Had something wrong with my ears that messed with my balance. Now I love cycling to bits <3 It's worth learning, if you ask me

Date: 2010-03-14 12:14 am (UTC)And I will, I will, just being pretty ill this past week had made me loathe to move, much less cook >_
(no subject)
Date: 2010-03-14 12:17 am (UTC)I see. D: Good that you're feeling better (?) then.
(no subject)
Date: 2010-03-14 12:19 am (UTC)I am, but God only knows how long it'll be before I fall ill again. My health oscillates between good and bad faster than I think is healthy XD
(no subject)
Date: 2010-03-14 12:23 am (UTC)As you've stated before. xD It's like that for my half brother too. My health can be a bit wonky sometimes too. And sometimes I feel a little bit sick pretty much constantly. Could just be the autumn/winter season, though...
(no subject)
Date: 2010-03-14 12:26 am (UTC)I hope it doesn't go too wonky too often. And yeah, whatever it is that's wrong with me, I really doubt the changing of the seasons is helping any D:

Date: 2010-03-14 12:29 am (UTC)Changing of seasons never help. :< Damn seasons.

Date: 2010-03-14 12:31 am (UTC)): But at least Spring is promising to be seriously pretty!
(no subject)
Date: 2010-03-14 12:37 am (UTC)But I guess trying out roller-coasters sort of go there too, because I always go hesitate for ages and ages before doing that. (Even if I've only tried out like... four. Two very small ones and two real ones, lol.)
I love spring!
(no subject)
Date: 2010-03-14 12:42 am (UTC)Roller-coasters don't really scare me. When I was a big chunk younger I would have to be dragged to try anything, but now it's all mostly fine. But this might be because the rides I've been to are pretty tame. Maybe. (I've tried two big ones and two small, very lulzy ones XD)
I'm starting to love it too, seeing the flowers bloom!
(no subject)
Date: 2010-03-14 12:46 am (UTC)They scare the fuck out of me. But somehow, I still love them. XDD The rides I go to are normally pretty tame, but there are a few pretty hardcore ones. There's still this one in the amusement park we usually go to that I'm too scared to try (even if I've actually tried quite a few hardcore ones. That one just really makes me shit bricks from seeing run).
Yes yes~~ Especially when snow has been covering the ground for ages and then there are FLOWERS! The world gets colour again! 8DD
(no subject)
Date: 2010-03-14 12:53 am (UTC)lols. I really want to try a hardcore one. I want to feel like I'm flyiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiing. Which ties into the whole hot-air-ballooning. Flying is AWESOME. XD Give it a shot, man, you'll be proud of yourself afterwards. Saying "shit bricks" amuses me no end.
The flowers are so very, very pretty! There's colour everywhere, whites and purples and yellows, oh, god <3
(no subject)
Date: 2010-03-14 12:56 am (UTC)But it's so scary! I have one that's plenty good enough for the feeling of flying that's a lot of fun, and the one that scares me is pretty much a bigger, more hardcore version of that ride. And it's plenty enough if you ask me, argh.
Yes! Especially the yellow. Spring flowers are very yellow here. And blue and a bit of white, mhm~ And a little purple. Heh~ Colours~
(no subject)
Date: 2010-03-14 01:01 am (UTC)The white ones in particular are really, really delicate looking. Like a series of gentle white bells along the stalks. *spazzes geekily at thought of flowers*
(no subject)
Date: 2010-03-14 10:16 am (UTC)This is the one I ride. http://i264.photobucket.com/albums/ii184/Looping_Starship/VrLisebergsresa29-30april-08052.jpg
LOL! I think people would look at you VERY oddly! XDDD (Lavi could do this! *Gets ideas*)
XDDD Oh yes, indeed~ White flowers are so prettiful.
(no subject)
Date: 2010-03-14 11:28 am (UTC)And even your 'tamer' one looks scary as almighty hell. The big ones I went to back home look like kiddy versions!
Being looked at funny is what I do? XD And yes, Lavi would do that. Please take idea and RUN WITH EEEEEEET
(no subject)
Date: 2010-03-14 01:31 pm (UTC)XDD It's fun as hell! First time I tried it I was trembling, smiling like an idiot and unable to stop laughing when it was finished. It was an amazing feeling. And I'm sure the hardcore one would have the same effect, if I dared trying!
lol! High-five for that! (I guess. People look at me funny every now and then too.) *Hi5* xD I SHALL! *Scurries off to put it on my to-write list*
(no subject)
Date: 2010-03-14 02:06 pm (UTC)If I ever go there, I'll give both a try. Yeah. If you do try it, like, I totally want to know what it's like.
I support this mild insanity! Though how epic is your must-write list? Because mine is epic. So epic, I may never get around to finishing it.... >_<
(no subject)
Date: 2010-03-14 02:30 pm (UTC)Do that~~ lol, I highly doubt I'll ever get to it. XDD
It's pretty epic. It has a few very awesome kinkmeme requests. Like...
"Lavi/Kanda
...Mud wrestling..."
and
"anon! I want you to give me.... Cross' first time.
[moar info here]"
There are also lines such as.
"How would you like your eggs this morning?" "Unfertilized, thank you"
"I laugh at your piano." "Your piano!"
And this...
Kanda and Alma as teenagers. AU.
And some dialogues that I have to include somewhere one day...
And this is an idea I'm quite proud of.
When the pillars of Lenalee's world come crashing down, Lavi takes it upon himself to teach her how to stand on her own, Bookman duties be damned.
Sorry for the spam. XDD
(no subject)
Date: 2010-03-14 02:58 pm (UTC)Though maybe I should try out a hot-air-balloon first, because I want to do that before I DIE D:
Oh wow, Cross' first time is simultaneously magnificent and terrifying. I can't imagine who the chick would be! The line about eggs makes me feel bad for laughing XD
Kanda and Alma as teenagers sounds like it'll be totally awesome *u*
Interesting idea is interesting... You're much better than me for writing other pairings, ossi, I can't really imagine writing Kanda or Lavi with anyone else *sparkly eyes*
For me, it's mostly Environmentally Friendly, a few kink requests, that ten-people drabble-meme I haven't completed yet, some stuff I want to get done for the fest, and the last chapter for a story in an old fandom. I suspect I'm biting off way more than I can chew...
And you don't have to apologise for spam. Spam is what we do :D
(no subject)
Date: 2010-03-14 03:16 pm (UTC)Do it~
Inorite? I had to put it on there. The eggs one was randomly written by someone on Skype. I was like "kjgfpodsjiogd I have to include that in a fic SOMEHOW!" and they were like "We will love you forever if you do!" xD
lol, it's not really a pairing one, per se. I don't ship them, and I don't think it'd happen, really (but what do I know where that story will go?). It's mostly because Lavi cares about Lenalee, and the idea hit me one day and I couldn't just ignore it.
Heh, you're not the only one. Sometimes I look at this list and just go "will all of this ever get done? D:" I've begun a kink request that I posted there too, and I really should continue that... But I have so much else I have to write I keep postponing it. >.

Date: 2010-03-14 12:36 am (UTC)On the other hand, that is a ridiculous price for just a quarter of that stuff!
Hope all goes well and that you get your bike, because riding bikes is the best--unless it rained the day before and the seat soaks your jeans so that you look like you pissed yourself. T_T
(no subject)
Date: 2010-03-14 12:46 am (UTC)It was hilarious. I'd be a lot more horrified if I was a fan of the thing.
... Oh dear. I think I'll do what I see others do, wrapping the seat with plastic before they leave it. But yay, another cycling fan! Where do you usually cycle to?
(no subject)
Date: 2010-03-14 05:38 am (UTC)It's also funny that people will pay that price, too. And it won't be very good, either. :/
I usually bike to class. It gets me there nice and quick! ^^ It has saved my ass from failing several times already (wake up, realize my test is starting NOW, and hightail it out of there, bike at high speeds, and get there in time to do the test, which lasts the first ten minutes of class).
(no subject)
Date: 2010-03-14 11:39 am (UTC)It looked unhealthy. The flesh is supposed be a healthy yellow, but this one was milky and pale D:
I can imagine. Many mornings I wake up late I wish I had a bike so that I wouldn't need to take the bus to get to class on time. But wow, it's good that it's saved your butt from failing tests!
